We are grateful to the people in the community who support the work we do...

These are just a few of the numerous benefactors, civic groups and businesses who have supported us in recent months. It is tremendously uplifting to realize our community actively recognizes the value of what we do...

The "SHAWN RYAN PAVILION"

Shawn is a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 117 of Coatesville.  For his Eagle
Scout Project, he offered to build a pavilion in our "back yard" for our clients and staff to enjoy their breaks and lunches outdoors.  The project started in August, 2006 with Shawn creating the plans, fundraising, and getting the building permit.   As you can see from the picture, he did a wonderful job!

A dedication ceremony was held June 30, 2007 where Shawn was officially presented with his Eagle badge.

Downingtown Bicycle Shop Thanks Downingtown Bicycle Shop
Ken Van Gilder, owner of the Downingtown Bicycle Shop, has come up with a neat way of raising money for Handi-Crafters which he calls “Pedals for People”.   Bring your used bike into his store - good quality bikes only.

Ken will do what is necessary to make sure it’s mechanically sound. He will sell it and donate the entire proceeds to Handi-Crafters.  As the bicycle donor, you will get a tax-deductible receipt.  Handi-Crafters Executive Director Amy Rice says “Pedals for People” is one of the most imaginative ideas she’s ever seen for raising money for the agency.  So, if you have an old bike you don’t need, give Ken a call at 610-269-5626 or stop by his shop at 833 W. Lancaster Avenue to find out how you can turn it into cash for Handi-Crafters and get a tax deduction at the same time.

Ruffini’s 7th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show

Learn more about Reffinis

Hundreds of car and bike enthusiasts will be cruising to Ruffini’s Italian Restaurant in Thorndale on Sunday, August 17, 2008 to enjoy an afternoon of fun in the sun at Ruffini’s 7th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show.  Last year there was an awesome selection of classic cars and bikes ranging from a 1930 Ford Model A complete with rumble seat and a totally rebuilt 1957 Chevy Belair convertible to a sporty little yellow, two-seater, ’67 Cobra.  Corvettes and Harleys were also be there in force.  Over 100 exhibitors came from all over Chester County to show their vehicles with pride at the 2007 car show and we expect it to be even bigger and better in 2008!  The event will, once again, benefit the programs of Handi-Crafters.   THANKS RUFFINI'S!!!!!

Volunteers from RE/MAX Professional Realty in Exton once again prepared and served our holiday dinner in December. RE/MAX manager Bob Shaffer, third from the left, said, “Our agents enjoy doing this each year because it gives them a really warm feeling inside.”
