Earlier this Spring Handi-Crafters was one of 12 greater Philadelphia area organizations awarded a grant from the Nonprofit Finance Fund’s Capital and Capacity for Economic Recovery program. The program, created with stimulus funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is designed to improve job training services and other economic development support for individuals in need.
The $16,000 grant will go towards enhancing Handi-Crafters’ Competitive Employment Placement services. Specifically, it will fund a small computer lab, new assessment and training resources, staff training and program marketing efforts. These tools will help us to more effectively assess, train and place individuals in viable job opportunities in the evolving local job market.
