(Thorndale, PA) Handi-Crafters announced today the non-profit organization will recognize Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNeil of Coatesville with the inaugural “Best Friend Award.” This award will be given to a recipient or recipients annually to honor service, commitment and dedication to Handi-Crafters and its mission.
“Handi-Crafters is very proud to make this special recognition each year in the spirit of being our Best Friend,” said Amy Rice, Executive Director. We are very fortunate and honored by the support bestowed on our operations and our mission by generous donors, customers and corporations. This award will give us an opportunity to say thank You and truly honor our gracious and treasured friends. Bob and Jennifer McNeil are no strangers in Chester County for their philanthropy; they have given tirelessly of their time, professional guidance and generous funding to many organizations. Robert Spatola, past President of the Board of Directors and long-time supporter and volunteer of Handi- Crafters said, “there have been projects and operations at Handi-Crafters that could never have been achieved without the support of Bob and Jennifer. “ The McNeil’s relationship with Handi-Crafters is celebrated for over a decade; Bob has served on the Board of Directors and led the 2006 Capital Campaign as co-chair. The building campaign generated over $3-million dollars, allowing Handi-Crafters to renovate to expand programs and services. The McNeil’s continue to support Handi-Crafters annually. The Best Friend Award will be formally presented on Friday, April 10th, 2015 during Handi-Crafters Annual Fundraiser.
Tickets are available for the fundraiser and the community is welcome to attend. The business casual event will be held at the Phoenixville Foundry on April 10th, from 6-10 pm. Tickets are $135 per person. This year Handi-Crafters will celebrate under the theme of Around the World with International Food and Wine Pairings. The event’s legendary sponsor is First Niagara Bank.
