Our Older Adult Daily Living Center is designed to provide personal care and meaningful activities for adults with disabilities who are 60 years of age or older, or for individuals who have been diagnosed with dementia or related illness who wish to retire from their employment program.
The program has a 6 to 1 staff-to-participant ratio which provides an opportunity to establish a trusting and nurturing environment.
- We provide special activities such as art class, music therapy, dance therapy, bingo, and on-site choral and band performance.
- We schedule field trips using our wheelchair accessible van and head out on excursions to: bowling once a month, visits to local parks and other area attractions.
- Outdoor activities include relaxing on our porch, gardening in our raised vegetable beds, or taking walks around our campus. These activities provide opportunities for participants to maintain and enhance the quality of their lives.
The staff includes a Director, an Activities Coordinator, and trained Activities Aides; with backgrounds in therapeutic recreation, education, and health care.
Leonard has worked at Handi-Crafters since 2005. He is now enjoying retirement activities that include art class on Tuesdays. Leonard is also an avid golfer.
